Like many politicians I will make you several promises.
Most of them I will fail to keep!
This blog has been set up with the initial premise of allowing people to inform others of their bad experiences of dealing with Barrow-in-Furness Borough Council. I will also use it to rant on indiscriminately about all sorts of stuff!
I don't know anyone who was unfortunate enough to suffer due to the Legionnaires Outbreak. My sympathies go out to those who have suffered because of the ineptitude of the Council.
My own suffering has only been at the hands of the Planning Department. No one has died yet but several people are suffering with their health because of the trauma of dealing with the Barrow-in-Furness Planning Department.
I suggest that all Barrovians use the May elections to send a warning message to the lazy councillors who think they will not lose their seats due to the fact they belong to established political parties.
If they have been in office before don't vote for them again. It's the only way to rid the Town Hall of the deadwood. We may lose some very good councilors but can you tell who is good and who is bad? 70,000 people are represented by a tiny minority and this tiny minority allowed Tom Campbell to stay in his job after the Legionnaires Outbreak.
They sanctioned the absurd waste of public money on a pointless new road system.
They think a few signs outside a pub are an eyesore but allow bookmakers to have large bright signs just a few hundred yards away.
They sanction the strangulation of a voluntary organisation who want to provide facilities for young people.
In my humble opinion they are useless. I stand to be corrected but hope the good people of Barrow will be able to shed more light on the dark side of Barrow Borough Council.
